Saturday, October 15, 2021 - October is full of family friendly activities in Sequoyah County. As Halloween approaches many of you may be wondering when your town will be celebrating Halloween and what other fun events are planned.
Gore, Vian, Sallisaw, Roland and Muldrow town officials reported that Halloween trick-or-treating will take place on Sunday, Oct. 31. However, the town of Webber Falls, will be observing Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 30, according to town representatives.
There are many additional Fall Festivals and activities planned throughout the county prior to Halloween. A list has been compiled below for your convenience.
Moffett Public School will be hosting a Fall Carnival, Friday, Oct. 22, from 5-8 p.m. The carnival will be held on the football field and will include bounce arounds, games, and food as well as a silent auction.
Wednesday, Oct. 27, Hanson Baptist Church will hold their Fall Fellowship Festival. The festival will feature carnival style games, inflatables, costume contests, clowns, face painting and a picture booth. This event will take place from 5-7 p.m.
The First Baptist Church of Sallisaw will be holding activities for K-5th grades on the evening of Oct. 27, from 6-7p.m.
Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home invites everyone to “Trick-or-Treat with our Residents,” Thursday, Oct. 28, from 5-7 p.m. Sequoyah Manor is located at 615 E. Redwood Sallisaw, OK.
Halloween on Elm Street will be held on Elm Street in Sallisaw on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 5-7 p.m.
Crossing Church, between Vian and Gore, will be hosting a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 30 from noon-3 p.m. There will be games, food, candy, prizes and more. Admission is free, but the church will be collecting donations for a Thanksgiving basket food drive. Items needed include canned fruit and vegetables, boxed stuffing, gravy mix, cornbread, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, pie filling, boxed cake mix, Jell-O and other non-perishable items.
Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford will be hosting a trunk or treat on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 12-5 p.m. Dress up and bring the kids out for hamburgers, hot dogs, games and candy.
Marble city adds additional fun with their downtown Trunk-or-Treat event Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. There will be a costume contest at 5 p.m. with prizes for teens, kids and adults. There will also be prizes for the best decorated trunk or vehicle. Any business, church, or organization wishing to participate will need to wear a protective face mask while handing out candy, and make sure to arrive early enough to have your vehicle decorated and ready to go at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 30, starting at 5p.m. Blackgum First Baptist Church will be holding a trunk or treat with candy, games and prizes.
Muldrow First Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a Trunk or Treat Saturday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. This event is located at 1100 S. Main St in Muldrow.
Melodie Dobson, with Sallisaw First Assembly stated they will be having a Fall festival Sunday, Oct. 31, starting at 6:30 p.m. "We will have games, prizes, food and fellowship," said Dobson. “This event will be a lot of fun for the entire family.”
