Greenleaf State Park Discovery Center Unveils Fun-Filled June Activity Schedule

Monday, June 2, 2025- Greenleaf State Park’s Discovery Center is gearing up for a summer full of hands-on fun and learning, with a packed schedule of family-friendly activities planned throughout the month of June.
Sundays at Greenleaf are all about creativity and nature. On June 1, 8, 15, and 28, visitors can enjoy Plastic Egg Snake crafts at 11 a.m. and rock painting at 1 p.m.
Wednesdays are made for adventure with Discovery Hikes set for June 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 3 p.m., offering families a chance to explore the park's trails and learn about the native ecosystem.
Thursdays bring a mix of education and environmental creativity. On June 5, 12, and 26, the center will host a Bee Hotel crafting session at 1 p.m., followed by a Box Turtle activity at 3 p.m. using toilet paper tubes. A special event takes place on Thursday, June 19, in celebration of World Snake Day with Plastic Egg Snake crafting at 1 p.m., and a snake meet-and-greet at 3 p.m.
Fridays promise a full afternoon of fun. On June 6, 13, 20, and 27, guests can join in at 2 p.m. for a Cottontail craft, learn fire safety through a tasty Edible Fire activity at 4 p.m., and wrap up the day with a Night Hike at 8 p.m.
Saturdays are filled with even more nature-based excitement. The fun kicks off on June 7 with National Trails Day, featuring a Family Fun Hike at 11 a.m., a Reptile Program at 1 p.m., and a Monarch Life Cycle activity at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, June 14, families are invited to join a Kids' Fishing Tournament at 10 a.m., followed by the Reptile Program at 3 p.m.
Rounding out the month, on June 21 and 28, bring the kids out for Hummingbird Feeder crafts at 11 a.m., catch another Reptile Program at 1 p.m., and end the day with a fascinating Monarch Life Cycle session at 3 p.m.
