Monday, October 6, 2025 – National 4-H Week, observed from October 5 to October 11, is a nationwide celebration that recognizes the achievements of 4-H youth and highlights the organization’s role in fostering leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
As part of National 4-H Week activities, several 4-H students from Gore Public Schools explored key local government sites. The group visited the Sequoyah County Courthouse and the Sheriff’s Office before attending the weekly County Commissioners meeting, gaining firsthand insight into how county business is conducted.
The visit, led by 4-H instructor Broke Taylor, Elementary Principal Tonya Pugh, and parent volunteer and teacher Larissa Edgmon, provided hands-on experience, giving students a unique opportunity to learn about local government, community service, and civic engagement.
National 4-H Week celebrates the achievements of young people while emphasizing the vital role of mentorship, education, and community engagement in developing the next generation of leaders.
