Thursday, October 2, 2025 – The Gore Public Works Authority (GPWA) has announced its semi-annual town-wide cleanup day, set for Saturday, October 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
GPWA customers will be able to dispose of unwanted items at no charge, though some restrictions apply.
To participate, residents must present proof of service with a current GPWA water or trash bill. A photo ID may also be requested.
Large disposal containers will be placed at the gravel parking lot west of the Steve Owens Sports Complex baseball fields, located on Steve Owens Road, which adjoins East 3rd Street and connects to U.S. Highway 64 on the east side of Gore.
Items not accepted include hazardous materials, construction debris, tires, brush or tree limbs, liquids, paint, or appliances containing Freon, such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. Appliances may be accepted if the compressor has been removed. Compressors, once removed, as well as batteries, will also be accepted.
