Monday, January 31, 2022 - Dayna Allison, 18, of Gans was injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident in Cherokee County. The wreck occurred at approximately 11:46 p.m.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Allison was driving southbound on OK-82 approximately nine miles north of Tahlequah when she departed the roadway to the left. She came back on the road and then departed the road to the right causing the vehicle to roll an unknown number of times
Allison was ejected from the 2001 Dodge 150 truck she was driving.
She was transported by Northeastern Health System EMS to Northeastern Health System in Tahlequah, with head and external trunk injuries where she was admitted in fair condition.
The cause of the accident is listed as inattentive/sleepy driving. Seatbelts were not in use.
The OHP was assisted at the scene by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Northeastern Health System EMS, and Peggs Fire Department.
