Free Food Bank and Clothes Closet Event Set for Saturday

Friday, August 7, 2026 —Families in the Sallisaw area will have an opportunity to stock up on food, clothing, and other essentials at a free community food bank and clothes closet event this Saturday.

The House, located at 2875 S. Kerr Blvd. in Sallisaw, will open its doors on Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide various items to local families at no cost.

As the new school year approaches, the event will provide a wide range of gently used clothing in different sizes, along with baby formula, frozen chicken, pasta noodles, and other essential pantry items.

There are no qualifications or eligibility requirements to participate, and everything is completely free while supplies last.

Those attending will also be treated to free hot dogs and refreshments in the café area while they wait.

Organizers urge families to stop by, take what they need, and make the most of this chance as the community gets ready for another school year.
