Emergency management to hold storm spotter training class


Tuesday, January 31, 2023 - Sequoyah County Emergency Management is hosting a free storm spotter training class in conjunction with the National Weather Service of Tulsa.


The "in person" storm spotter class is set to be held on Thursday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. The training will be held at the Sequoyah County Emergency Management office in Sallisaw and will be open to the public.


The training will last approximately two and a half hours, with a 15-minute break. There is no pre-registration fee, and those attending will gain information related to storms, storm structures, and the National Weather Service.


The Sequoyah County Emergency Management Office explained that they have plans to utilize certified storm spotters in the near future.


The Sequoyah County Emergency Management Office is located at 108 E. Chickasaw in Sallisaw.
