Early Voting Begins April 2 for Board of Education General Election

March 10, 2026 — Early voting begins Thursday, April 2, for voters in Sequoyah County who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day. Voters have the option of casting their ballots early at the Sequoyah County Election Board.

“Early voting is open to all registered voters. You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted by the county or state election boards, from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Brunk stated.

Early voting will be available Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sequoyah County Election Board in Sallisaw. Brunk reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.

Polling precinct locations that will be open for the Brushy School Board of Education General Election on April 7 include:

·        Marble City Community Center (Precinct 207)

·        Price Chapel Church (Precinct 307)

·        Akins First Baptist Church (Precinct 306)

·        Brushy School Gym (Precinct 308)

Some voters may need assistance to vote because they are blind or visually disabled, physically disabled or infirm, or illiterate. These voters may request assistance from a person of their choice or vote privately and independently using the ATI device attached to the voting machine.

Voters needing assistance should speak with their precinct official or contact the Sequoyah County Election Board for additional instructions.

For more information, contact the Election Board at 918-775-2614 or email sequoyahcounty@elections.ok.gov.

The Sequoyah County Election Board is located at 110 E. Creek Ave. in Sallisaw.

It's great to see early voting starting on April 2 for the Board of Education general election! Encouraging community members to vote early ensures everyone has a chance to participate and have their voices heard. This process highlights the importance of staying informed about local education decisions that impact students, teachers, and families. On a different note, as schools and educational offices modernize, digitizing services can play a crucial role in streamlining administrative tasks, managing records efficiently, and improving accessibility for all. Early voting combined with tech improvements like digitizing services strengthens community engagement and education systems.
