Tuesday, April 26, 2022 - The Sallisaw NOW Coalition is sponsoring a medication take back event on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Clif’s Pharmacy will be the host site for the event and is located at 505 E. Redwood Ave. in Sallisaw.
This event is part of the "National Drug Take Back Day" that occurs twice a year in April and October. The purpose of National Drug Take Back Day is to encourage, assist, and educate individuals on how to properly dispose of medications safely.
The Sallisaw Now Coalition program director, Amy Edwards, said, "We sponsor several of these events annually to assist and educate those who may have expired or unwanted medications in their home. It doesn’t matter whether the medication is prescription or over the counter, we will take them."
If you are unable to make it to the take back event and need to properly dispose of your medications, you can find a medication disposal drop box at a location near you. Locations include the Gore, Roland, Muldrow, and Sallisaw police departments as well as the Sequoyah County Sheriff's office.
