Downtown Diamond Daze schedule set for May 5 and 6

Tuesday, April 18, 2023 - In just a few short weeks, the 2023 Diamond Daze festival will fill the streets of downtown Sallisaw. The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, along with Sallisaw Main Street, have worked hard planning this year's event, which is set to be held on May 5 and 6.


This annual event never disappoints, bringing fun for everyone regardless of age. Those attending will be well entertained with live music, tasty food, bounce-a-rounds, a car show, and much more.


A schedule of events has been provided by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce and Sallisaw Main Street for Diamond Daze 2023.


Friday, May 5

11:00 a.m. - Indian tacos at the "Pig" Trailer on Oak St.

5:00 p.m. - BBQ meat pick-up at Rugers for participants of the BBQ cook-off.

6:00 p.m. - Sing Sallisaw takes place on the GRDA stage for those 13 and up.


Saturday, May 6

6:00 a.m. - 5K, half marathon, sign-up, packet pick-up, picture, and race day registration at the Old High School Rotunda & Park

6:30 a.m. - Vendors load in and set up. All vendors must be ready by 8 a.m.

6:30–10 a.m. - Car Show registration and set-up (enter on South Elm Street ONLY)

7:00 a.m. - Half Marathon begins

7 a.m. - Masonic Lodge Breakfast on Redwood Avenue

7:10 a.m. - 5k and fun run start

10 a.m. - Corn Hole Tournament sign-in

11 a.m. - The corn hole tournament begins.

11 a.m. - Bounce-a-rounds open in the Children's Zone on Oak Street.

11 a.m. - Sing Sallisaw prelims begin at the Pocket Park.

11 a.m. - Main Street BBQ taster kits go on sale at the library lawn.

11 a.m. - The Cherokee Nation National Choir performs on the GRDA Stage.

12:30 p.m. - Muldrow Activity Center performs at Stage Park

1:30-2:15 p.m. - Sing Sallisaw’s Top 3 will perform at Stage Park

2 p.m. - Main Street BBQ Contest Awards Presentation, GRDA Stage

2–3:30 p.m. - Award presentation for Car Show Winners; event site

3–3:30 p.m. - Award presentation for Corn Hole Winners, event site

3–4:30 p.m.: - Brittany Morse and Friends perform at Pocket Park

4:30–6 p.m. - The Johnny Mullenax Band performs at Stage Park

6-10 p.m. - Cruise Night on Cherokee Avenue (AII City and State Laws will be enforced.)

7 p.m. - Sing Sallisaw Winner performs at Stage Park

7:30 p.m. - Main Attraction "The Klocks" perform at Stage Park
