Monday, Sept. 27, 2021 - The Sequoyah County Commissioners unanimously approved an agreement between District 1 and a county resident to clear up a row of trees on a fence row causing a blind intersection near the resident's home. The agreement passed with no discussion at the commissioners' regular weekly meeting Monday.
The commissioners opened two bids for the purchase of a truck for the Marble City Fire Department, but one of the bids was not notarized, so it couldn't be considered at the time of the meeting. The Marble City fire chief took the bids with him for further review, but the second bid, from Harry Robinson Ford, must go back to dealership to be completed before it can be reconsidered by MCFD.
In other business, the commissioners:
*Approved District 2 Commissioner Beau Burlison's purchase of a dump truck bed from Hilbilt
*Approved a letter of choice for county bridge inspection contracts
*Approved a resolution concerning the inspection responsibility by local government for compliance with national bridge inspection standards
*Declared as surplus an HP Laserjet printer 4250 by the Sequoyah County clerk's office
*Declared as surplus a tilt skillet and Livescan by the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office.
