COVID vaccine available for children ages 12-15 years old

Wednesday, May 19, 2021 - On May 10 the Food and Drug Administration announced that children 12 to 15 years old are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Once fully vaccinated, school children will not have to quarantine if they are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, according to Sequoyah County Health Department (SCHD) officials.

The SCHD is currently administering the Pfizer vaccine for children in this age group. They have also announced adjusted hours to allow parents/guardians access to the clinic later than normal on May 20.

Adjusted hours for May 20 will be 8 am-noon and 1 pm-7 pm.

An appointment can be scheduled at vaccinate.ok.gov. You can also walk-in or call to set-up a time.

Parents/guardians must provide consent by signing the consent form from the portal or obtaining a copy through the health department.
