Commissioners give go ahead for grant application


Tuesday, September, 7, 2021 - The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office received the county commissioners' unanimous approval Monday to apply for a $10,000 reimbursement grant from the District Attorney's Council.


Sheriff's Investigator Cindy Smith spoke about the grant at the Board of Sequoyah County Commissioners' regular weekly meeting. She said the funds from the JAG/LLE grant would be used to purchase license plate readers.


In other business, the commissioners:

*Approved the 2020 REAP Contract Closeout Certification for District 2

*Approved the 2021 REAP Contract Closeout Certification for District 3

*Approved a letter of choice for county bridge inspection contracts

*Approved a resolution concerning the inspection responsibility by local government for compliance with national bridge inspection standards

*Accepted District 1 Commissioner Ray Watts' REAP application for Fiscal Year 2022.
