Tuesday, December 30, 2025 — As New Year’s Eve approaches, Sallisaw residents are reminded of the city’s fireworks regulations. Those using fireworks are encouraged to use extra caution due to drier-than-usual weather conditions this time of year.
Personal fireworks are permitted within Sallisaw city limits on New Year’s Eve, December 31, from 10:00 a.m. until midnight. Fireworks must be used only during these hours and in accordance with all local safety regulations. Fireworks are not permitted in the downtown business district.
It is also important to have water or a fire extinguisher readily available to ensure all fireworks are fully extinguished after use.
Residents are asked to have water or a fire extinguisher readily available to ensure all fireworks are fully extinguished after use, be mindful of neighbors, pets, and individuals who are sensitive to loud noises, and supervise children at all times. Law enforcement and emergency personnel will be on alert throughout the evening to respond to safety concerns or ordinance violations.
For questions regarding fireworks regulations, contact the City of Sallisaw or local law enforcement for additional information.
