City employees recognized at monthly meeting

Saturday, January 14, 2023 - The Sallisaw Board of City Commissioners recognized several city employees during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday night.


At the beginning of each year, the Oklahoma Municipal League recognizes municipal employees across the State of Oklahoma who have completed 25 years of service during the previous year.


Sallisaw City Manager Keith Skelton presented awards to five employees who began their careers with the city in 1997. Award receipts include: Clint Smith, Charles Richardson, John Fargo, Todd Brewer, and Jamie Phillips..


In addition, Skelton presented gold watches to two long-term employees upon their retirement from the City of Sallisaw.

Carl Poindexter received a gold watch for 31 years of service, and Debra Washington received a gold watch for 16 years.


In other business, a special meeting was scheduled for February 2 at the council chambers, starting at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held to discuss code enforcement, the FY 2024 budget requirements, and the FY 2022 utility study.
