Tuesday, July 26, 2022 - The City of Sallisaw’s street department is currently working on a construction project near the northeast corner of the courthouse.
Sallisaw City Manager Keith Skelton stated, "This section of the road has always been troublesome. Right now, the street department is in the process of digging out part of the road at the intersection of Chickasaw and Oak streets. Once that is completed, we will be replacing it with concrete."
"We are hoping this will improve the drainage problems at this location," Skelton added.
The construction is expected to continue through the early part of next week. Motorists should avoid this area if possible.
