Chamber Highlights Livestock Show Events, Honors Forever Memories as Member of the Month

Thursday, February 5, 2026 — The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce shared updates on this week’s livestock show events in the county during its recent membership meeting on Wednesday.

Livestock show activities began on Wednesday and will continue through Friday, February 6, with the Bidders BBQ starting at 6 p.m., followed by the Premium Auction at 7 p.m.

Chamber officials reminded attendees that unless individuals are chamber members with billing information already on file, all add-ons and purchases must be paid at the tally table Friday night. Organizers encouraged members to help spread the word to ensure a smooth checkout process.

The meeting's keynote speakers were county FFA and 4-H students who introduced themselves and their involvement in agricultural programs. Three county seniors were also interviewed during the meeting as part of the FFA scholarship selection process.

In addition, Forever Memories Funeral Home was recognized as the Chamber’s Member of the Month for February.

The funeral home joined the Chamber in August 2015, the same month it opened its doors in Sallisaw. While the business itself is relatively young, its staff brings more than 50 years of combined experience in the funeral industry.

Forever Memories emphasized its commitment to being available whenever families need assistance. Although regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., phones are answered 24 hours a day by a staff member, ensuring callers always reach someone directly during times of need.
