Friday, April 7, 2023 - Carl Albert State College has achieved a nearly flawless outcome report from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation checklist. This means that CASC has met every requirement and continues to be fully accredited.
The HLC is an independent corporation that evaluates colleges and universities in the United States. Institutions that receive accreditation from the HLC are deemed to meet rigorous standards of quality and effectiveness. Receiving accreditation is important for any school because it allows students to receive federal financial aid, be eligible for certain scholarships, and demonstrates to employers that the degree earned is respected. The accreditation team visited CASC in November after reviewing an extensive accreditation report drafted and submitted by CASC team members.
CASC president Dr. Jay Falkner is extremely proud of this accomplishment and thanks all who have helped make it possible. "This would not have been possible without the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners," said Falkner. "Thank you for your support as we continue striving to provide excellence in education. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this milestone achievement!"
“This report is a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work that each and every one of you has put in,” said Dr. Marc Willis, Vice President of Academic Affairs. “But we will not rest on our laurels. The report also reminds us that there is still work to be done, and the team's suggestions are well-heeded. We have a momentum that we can carry forward, and there is no doubt that CASC will continue to display the same dedication and commitment to continuous improvement that we were able to translate to the reviewers.”
