CARL ALBERT STATE COLLEGE AWARDED $2.6 MILLION STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES GRANT

Thursday, August 7, 2025 - The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Carl Albert State College (CASC) a Student Support Services (SSS) grant totaling $2,620,150 over the next five years. The grant provides $524,030 annually to strengthen support for 285 low-income, first-generation, and disabled college students each year, both in person and online, through offices on the Poteau and Sallisaw campuses.

This funding ensures CASC can continue its long-standing tradition of empowering students to achieve academic success, persist to graduation, and pursue meaningful careers.

“Our SSS grant is incredibly important for our participants, and we are thrilled to continue being an integral part of Carl Albert, assisting students who are crucial to our mission,” said Michelle White, Director of TRIO Programs at CASC.

The SSS program offers comprehensive services, including academic advising, tutoring, financial literacy education, transfer assistance, and personal development resources, to help students overcome barriers to success in higher education.
