Boots and Badges Blood Drive Returns to Sallisaw

Thursday, July 9, 2026 — Community members will have the opportunity to help save lives while supporting their favorite first responders during the upcoming Boots and Badges Community Challenge Blood Drive, hosted by “Our Blood Institute” (OBI).

The annual event is a friendly competition between local police officers and firefighters to see which team can inspire the most community members to donate blood. While the challenge brings out a little friendly rivalry, the ultimate goal is to help ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

The blood drive will be held Tuesday, July 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Wheeler Event Center in Sallisaw.

Every blood donation has the potential to help save multiple lives, making each donor an important partner alongside local emergency responder.

Community members are encouraged to roll up their sleeves, donate blood, and show their support for both the police and fire departments while helping meet the ongoing need for lifesaving blood donations.
