Friday, January 7, 2022 - On Thursday, January 6, Sequoyah County Emergency Manager Steve Rutherford confirmed that the body of the missing fisherman at Kerr Lock and Dam had been located and recovered.

The victim has been identified by his family as 71-year-old Daniel Dean Massey of Dallas, Texas.

A rescue/recovery mission began on Monday, December 27 when an eye witness stated that he was fishing when he saw another male fisherman fall into the river. The witness stated that he was able to see the man until he was up against the wall of the dam.
