Friday, April 10, 2026 — Arvest Bank has officially launched the 16th year of its annual Million Meals campaign, a two-month effort aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat hunger across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas.
Â
The initiative, which runs through May 31, directs all funds raised to more than 70 local food partners throughout the region. Organizers say every dollar donated can provide up to five meals for individuals and families in need.
Â
The campaign comes at a critical time, as local food pantries often experience an increase in demand during the summer months when many children lose access to free or reduced-price school meals. Community support during this period is essential to help bridge the gap for families facing food insecurity.
Â
Recent data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture demonstrates the continuing need. Arkansas ranks first among the most food-insecure states, with 19% of households reporting they do not have enough food. Oklahoma ranks sixth at 17%, Missouri 17th at 13%, and Kansas 26th at 12.5%. Nationwide, 18% of households with children under 18 experienced food insecurity in 2024, along with 11% of elderly individuals living alone.
Â
Since its launch in 2011, the Million Meals campaign has helped provide more than 28 million meals and raised over $5.1 million. In 2025, the campaign reached a record milestone, helping deliver 3.08 million meals to those in need.
Â
Community members can support the effort in several ways. Donations are being accepted at Arvest Bank branches in the form of cash or check, and online contributions can be made through the bank’s Million Meals webpage. All donations must be submitted by May 31.
Â
Bank officials encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations to participate, noting that even small contributions can make a meaningful difference in the fight against hunger.
