“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” Fundraiser Set for March 9

Thursday, February 19, 2026 — The Sequoyah County Resource Network is inviting the community to test their knowledge at its upcoming “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader—Sequoyah County Edition” fundraiser.

The event will be held on Monday, March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Indian Capital Technology Center. A concession stand featuring Tyler Mountain BBQ will open at 5 p.m., allowing guests to grab dinner before the competition begins.

Inspired by the popular television game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, the spirited event will challenge local contestants to answer grade-school-level questions while competing for bragging rights and, most importantly, raising funds for a worthy cause.

Proceeds will benefit the Sequoyah County Resource Network and its community initiatives, including the annual Back-to-School Roundup, Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Angel Tree project, and other outreach efforts throughout the year.

Teams may consist of one to five members and can represent businesses, civic organizations, churches, families, or any group willing to join in the fun. The team entry fee is $50 and is open to all ages.

The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and cheer on their favorite teams. Admission is $2 at the door. “Save Passes” will also be available for purchase at the door for $25 each, giving teams a second chance to advance if they miss a question.

Organizers promise an interactive evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and an energetic emcee to keep the crowd entertained.

To sign up a team or for more information, contact Melissa Lowe at 918-776-0848.
