Thursday, February 8, 2023 - The 58th Sequoyah County Junior Livestock Show will be held Feb. 15 through Feb. 17 at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds.
All animals will be weighed and sifted between 9 a.m. and noon on the day of the show.
Wednesday, Feb. 15 events include check-in from 9 a.m. to noon for sheep, goats, and cattle.
The show begins at 5 p.m. for the following categories:
Doe Goats
Wether Goats
Wether Goat Sale Order
Goat Showmanship
Lambs
Lamb Sale Order
Sheep Showmanship
Heifers
Heifer Sale Order
Steers
Steer Sale Order
Beef Showmanship
Swine will be shown on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m., with check-in again between 9 a.m. and noon. This year, there will be an impressive dress contest for all local 4-H students to participate in at 10 a.m.
Showings will begin on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. for the following:

Market Barrows
Barrow Sale Order
Swine Showmanship
A 4-H talent show is planned for Friday at 10 a.m., along with a bidder’s barbecue beginning at 6 p.m. The premium auction is scheduled to begin directly after dinner at 7 p.m.
This year’s livestock judges are Shawn Sparks, judging cattle, goats, and sheep, and Galen McCune, judging swine. This year’s auctioneer for the premium auction is Tommy Wright.

The Sequoyah County Fairgrounds are located at 464101 E. 1070 Rd., East Redwood and Shirley, in Sallisaw.
