Friday, October, 24, 2025 — Sequoyah County communities are getting ready for a week packed with family-friendly Halloween events, from hayrides and costume contests to trunk-or-treats and fall festivals. Whether you’re looking for sweet treats or spooky fun, there’s something for everyone leading up to Halloween night.
Saturday, October 25
At Brushy Lake, families can enjoy Halloween at the Lake from 2 to 5 p.m., featuring a hayride, candy, and live music. Campers who decorate their sites will receive one free night’s stay, with prizes for the best displays, first place earns five free nights, second place three, and third place two.
Over in Marble City, the downtown area will come alive from 5 to 6 p.m. for a community Trunk-or-Treat. Locals, churches, and businesses are invited to decorate their vehicles and hand out candy. The event will include costume contests for all ages and a pumpkin decorating contest sponsored by the Marble City Farmers Art Market. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes and trunks.
In Muldrow, the Barnes Bounce Annual Trunk-or-Treat will take place in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot from 6 to 8 p.m. with candy, games, and fun for kids of all ages.
Later that evening, Webbers Falls will host a Downtown Street Dance from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring live music by Jackson Glasby and barbecue from Jerry & Walt’s Chosen Eats. The Best Overall Costume Contest will be held between 7:30 and 8 p.m. The event will move indoors to the Freedom Hall Event Center if weather becomes an issue.
Sunday, October 26
Families can celebrate First Responders Day at The Pumpkin Patch from 2 to 5 p.m. at Sallisaw United Methodist Church. Guests can meet local firefighters, police officers, and other first responders while enjoying trick-or-treating and fall-themed fun.
Later in the day, Woodland Hills Church will host its Fall Round-Up from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring hayrides, bounce houses, cornhole, bingo, a chili cook-off, and a fall tattoo station, perfect for kicking off the final countdown to Halloween.
Monday, October 27
Pet lovers won’t want to miss the Halloween Pet Costume Contest hosted by Sequoyah Animal Advocates, Inc. The contest begins at 6 p.m. at Pocket Park in downtown Sallisaw. There will be tons of prizes for dogs and cats dressed in their best costumes, with categories including Funniest Costume, Most Creative, Best in Show Dog, Best in Show Cat, Audience Favorite, Owner & Pet Look-Alike, and Best Pet’s Human Costume. Attendees can also enjoy candy and fun giveaways.
Wednesday, October 29
Dora Assembly of God will hold its Fall Festival at 6 p.m. The evening promises food, games, candy, and fun for all ages in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Friday, October 31
Halloween is packed with events and activities taking place across Sequoyah County, ensuring families have plenty of safe and exciting options for trick-or-treating. On Friday, October 31, families can enjoy all the fun starting at 3 p.m.
Stop by the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library from 3-4 p.m. for a fun Halloween craft. Children can also stop by the libraries front desk for a Halloween treat from 3-5:30pm!
At Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford, families can visit from 3 to 6 p.m. for a Trunk-or-Treat featuring decorated vehicles and candy in a safe, festive setting.
The Muldrow Library will host Trick-or-Treat at the Library from 4 to 6 p.m., offering early evening fun for children and families.
In Webbers Falls, a Trunk-or-Treat will take place in the city park from 5 to 6:30 p.m., where families can park around the loop to hand out candy. For more information, call 918-816-6568.
Meanwhile, the Town of Gore has announced that due to the impending rain forecast, the Gory Gore Parade has been canceled. However, Town Hall will distribute candy on Halloween from 5 to 7 p.m. so children don’t miss out on the fun.
At the Sallisaw Veterans Home, trick-or-treaters can visit residents from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for a heartwarming celebration with local heroes. Community members wishing to donate candy can contact 539-230-2062.
First Baptist Church in Roland will host its 3rd Annual Trunk-or-Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 203 Carson Road, offering festive cars, candy, and fun for all ages.
Gans Public School will host a Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school’s front parking lot.
In Muldrow, the First Church of the Nazarene invites families to its annual Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1100 S. Main Street, featuring hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, games, and plenty of candy.
Finally, downtown Sallisaw will host the highly anticipated Halloween on Elm celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Elm Street between Cherokee and Chickasaw will be closed to traffic and transformed into a Halloween wonderland filled with decorated booths, candy, and costumed fun. Sallisaw police officers will be on hand to ensure a safe experience for all.
As a final treat, families are encouraged to stop by local nursing homes, where residents look forward to handing out goodies and seeing children dressed in costume.
With trunk-or-treats, parades, bonfires, and costume contests galore, Sequoyah County is ready to make this Halloween a wickedly wonderful celebration full of fright, fun, and memories that will last long after the last candy wrapper hits the floor.
