Sanchez Charged with False Impersonation

Tuesday, June 1, 2021 - On May 22, a Roland police officer was on patrol westbound on U.S. Highway 64 and Carson Road when she clocked a four-door black Kia at 67 mph on radar. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who admitted he didn’t have a driver’s license, had no form of identification on him and had no insurance. The license plate on his car had been expired since October 2020, and the name he provided did not come back from dispatch. The officer then placed the man in handcuffs but did not arrest him.

After handcuffing him, the officer noticed a prescription bottle in Sanchez’s jacket pocket. The name on the bottle was Miguel Sanchez. The officer then placed Sanchez under arrest, but when she told him to get into her patrol unit, he refused and began trying to pull away. She grabbed his arm and assisted Sanchez to the ground. Sanchez was then transported to the Roland Police Department
