Wednesday, July 21, 2021 - City officials have announced that the Sallisaw Municipal Swimming Pool will be closing for the season Aug. 1.
The closure will allow the pool's current lifeguard staff to return to school and other responsibilities.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, finding lifeguards at pools around Sequoyah County was a difficult task this year. The City of Sallisaw offered a special thank you for all the pool workers who stepped up by taking on extra shifts this summer, and they praised longtime pool manager Lynn Daggs for her years of service.
