New resource available for parents dealing with troubled teens

Tuesday, October 25, 2022 - Heartline Oklahoma for Children and Youth recently introduced a new resource for parents dealing with troubled or out-of-control teens.

The resource comes in the form of a phone number. The number 1-833-885-2273 is free to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call center specialists are available to offer their services to families through support and resources at any time.

In the past, parents and caregivers called local law enforcement agencies for help with their teen’s negative behaviors. If the reported behaviors are not illegal and no charges can be filed, law enforcement will now provide the number to those in need.

The call specialist will help to dissolve problems in many areas, no matter if they're crisis or non-crisis related. A few of the areas include emotional, behavioral, social, physical, or difficulties with mental health.

If a need for mental health services does occur, the center specialist will connect families to a local mental health professional. The mental health professional will be able to come to the callers' home within 1 to 24 hours of the call.
