Muldrow man fails to register as sex offender

Tyler Scott Hawkins

Wednesday, June 2, 2021 - A Muldrow man was arrested May 18 and charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $5,000 or both.

On May 18, the Roland Police Department asked Muldrow police to locate a red Dodge on U.S. Highway 64 that had fled from the scene of an accident.

When Muldrow police caught up with the vehicle, the driver provided the police with a name that did not come back from dispatch. An officer began questioning the passenger, who admitted to being the driver's co-worker and identified him as Tyler Scott Hawkins.

Sebastian County, Ark., dispatch revealed that Hawkins is 21 years old and had been convicted of rape in Crawford County in 2018.

Hawkins had been living in Muldrow with his two other brothers for the past three months.
