Tuesday, April 26, 2022 - The Sequoyah County Board of County Commissioners held their regular weekly meeting on April 25, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting took place at the County Commissioners’ meeting room at the Sequoyah County courthouse.
Consideration of resolutions, bids, and contracts resulted in discussion and approval of an agreement by and between Sequoyah County District # 2 and the Township of Paradise Hill related to water issues.
There was also discussion and approval of a detention services agreement by and between the board of county commissioners for Tulsa County Juvenile Detention and the board of county commissioners for Sequoyah County.
During the citizen presentation portion of the meeting, Sequoyah County Emergency Manager Steve Rutherford said, "This weekend the area received three inches of rain in a short amount of time. We had a few issues with travel, but nothing major, and luckily there were no injuries. "
The town of Gan’s Mayor, Gary McGinnis, introduced himself along with a few of his plans and goals for the community of Gans.
Under the item of new business, there was discussion and approval of two transfers of appropriations. One was from the election board M & O to election board travel, Sequoyah County Election Board. The other was from health revaluation to health capital outlay, Sequoyah County Clerk.
