Monday, May 17, 2021 - The Board of Sequoyah County Commissioners approved a pair of $8,000 donations from the Cherokee Nation at their weekly meeting Monday.
The annual donations to the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office go toward smaller municipalities in the county, said SCSO Public Information Officer Charles House.
The commissioners also approved District 2's purchase of a Caterpillar compact track loader on a state contract.
The panel also agreed to allow the county treasurer to sign for FEMA Public Assistance Grant DR 4530 and approved the treasurer's initial bid on county property S/2 BLK 102 Marble City Original Town.
In other business, the commissioners:
*Approved the transfer of funds from District 2's Maintenance & Operations account to its T8 capital outlay account
*Approved the transfer of funds from the SCSO's DEQ Personal Services account to the Sheriff's Service Fee Maintenance & Operations account
*Approved the transfer of funds from the SCSO's DEQ Maintenance & Operations account to the Sheriff's Service Fee Maintenance & Operations account
*Approved the designation of Judges Jeff Payton and Kyle Waters as requisitioning agents for Sequoyah County Community Sentencing
*Approved the designation of Jennifer Glass as receiving agent for Sequoyah County Community Sentencing.
