Monday, October 18, 2022 - The town of Gore will be holding their semi-annual cleanup day on Saturday, October 22. This city-wide event will take place from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m.
All Gore Public Works Authority (GPWA) customers will be allowed to dispose of undesirable items during the clean-up event. However, there will be a few exceptions.
Items not accepted consist of the following: hazardous materials, construction debris, tires, brush, tree limbs, liquids, paint, and appliances containing freon.
Items containing freon include refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. These items will only be accepted once the compressors have been removed.
Large containers will be placed in the gravel parking lot west of the Steve Owens Sports Complex baseball fields as a temporary drop-off location for the day.
The drop-off site is located on Steve Owens Road, which adjoins East 3rd Street and meets US-64 on the east side of Gore.
Residents will need to present proof of service such as a current GPWA water or trash bill to participate. A picture ID may be requested at the time of drop off.
For additional information, contact the town of Gore at goretown@townofgore.org.
