ree

Sunday, June 8, 2025 - Families are invited to cast a line by enjoying the beautiful outdoors during Cherokee Nation’s Family Fishing Day, hosted by Cherokee Nation Public Health and Cherokee Nation Natural Resources. The event is set for Friday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the pond to the east of the W.W. Keeler Tribal Complex, next to Bald Hill Road in Tahlequah.

Participants will have a chance to win prizes for the biggest catch, with awards going to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the largest fish by weight. The event is open to the public and is a perfect opportunity for families to spend time together in a fun and healthy outdoor setting.

The pond will be freshly stocked for the event. Fishing worms will be provided, and participants may use their own lures if they prefer. Up to 100 fishing poles will be available to use while supplies last, so early arrival is encouraged. Water stations will be placed around the pond, and tents will be set up to offer shade and comfort for attendees.

Family events like the Cherokee Nation’s Fishing Day are a wonderful way to promote community health, relaxation, and togetherness. While outdoor activities support wellness, self-care routines can also enhance confidence and balance. Treatments such as Hydrafacial Irvine provide deep cleansing and hydration, helping refresh the skin so you can enjoy both healthy living and radiant confidence.
