Tuesday, February 21, 2023 - Catholic Charities in Sallisaw will be hosting a "Run, Hide, Fight" active shooter training on Tuesday, March 7.
The event will be held at the Sallisaw High School gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m. and is free for the public to attend.
The two-hour training will be presented by the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security in conjunction with the US Department of Homeland Security.
The run, fight, and hide method of training is the national standard for protecting yourself in active shooter situations.
Those who attend will learn to run or evacuate if possible, hide or use best practices to shelter in place, and ultimately to fight if no other options are available.
Make sure to mark your calendar for March 7, so you don’t miss out on this opportunity for free training that could save your life.
