Boys and Girls Club seeking community help with FUNDrive

Updated: Dec 31, 2021

Saturday, January 1, 2021 - The Boys and Girls Club of Sequoyah County is currently participating in FUNDrive, a fundraising program offered for non-profit agencies through Savers.

Laura Kuykendall, CEO of the Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club, said, "We recently partnered with Savers and are collecting donations of clothing and everyday household items. Once all donations have been collected, the club will drop them off and receive twenty cents per pound collected."

Items accepted include clean, used clothing, purses, shoes, hats, backpacks, sheets, blankets, towels, curtains, and anything else you can wear or use in your home. One hundred percent of the clothing collected will be recycled and distributed to families in need.

All soft goods need to be placed in a trash bag that ties, and hard goods must fit in a closed box.

Donations can be dropped off at the Boys and Girls Club Sallisaw unit now through February 15. "The club has set a goal of collecting one hundred and thirty-five bags. If we are able to come up with that many, it is estimated that the club would earn roughly five hundred dollars," Kuykendall stated.

The Boys and Girls Club is located at 208 S. Main St., Sallisaw and is open Monday through Friday. If you have any questions regarding the FUNDrive, you can contact the club at 918-775-4659.
