Tuesday, July 27, 2021 - First responders in Sallisaw are asking residents to “Be a Hero” and donate blood Thursday, July 29, during their annual Boots & Badges Community Challenge Blood Drive.
Bloodmobiles from the Oklahoma Blood Institute will be parked at the Sallisaw Walmart from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and donors will receive their choice of one ticket to the Science Museum of Oklahoma, one ticket to Frontier City or two tickets to Safari Joe's H20 Water Park. Photo identification is required.
To schedule an appointment to donate blood, contact Carson Davis at (479) 652-2362. Walk-in appointments are also welcome.
By giving blood at this drive, donors will show their support for the firefighters and law enforcement officers who serve their community.
Please take note of the following requirements:
*16-year-old donors must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission
*17-year-old donors must weigh at least 125 pounds
*Donors 18 and older must weigh at least 110 pounds.
*Donors must be 18 or older to receive a COVID-19 antibody test. This test has not been reviewed by the FDA and is not intended for diagnosis or treatment of COVID-19.
