Thursday, April 23, 2021 - High schools around Sequoyah County are making big plans for this year’s graduation ceremonies that will honor the senior classes of 2021.
High school seniors in Gore will graduate at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Gore Event Center and school officials are not imposing COVID-19 restrictions on the participants or those in attendance.
Roland High School Principal Keli Harrell said that her school’s graduation ceremony will be at 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, at the Carl Matlock Fieldhouse. Harrell said any plans for COVID-19 restrictions are not firm at this time.
Gans School is honoring its senior class at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the football field, weather permitting. If it rains, the ceremony will be moved to the following Saturday, Gans Superintendent Larry Calloway said Wednesday.
Sallisaw High School’s graduation is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the football field, weather permitting. The ceremony will be at the gym in case of inclement weather. SHS Principal Rusty Tillery said Wednesday that protective face masks are encouraged at the ceremony, but they won’t be required.
Superintendent of Muldrow Public Schools Ron Flanagan said that Muldrow High’s graduation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the school’s Activities Center. No COVID-19 restrictions will be in place at the ceremony, he said.
In Vian, the high school graduation ceremony will be at 8 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the football field. There will be no COVID-19 restrictions in place at the ceremony.
