Thursday, October 14, 2021 - The City of Sallisaw will be having their annual “Halloween on Elm Street” celebration from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28. Businesses, churches, organizations and civic groups will be set up handing out candy and treats for all trick-or-treaters.
Those arriving early for treats can line up along Cherokee beginning at Elm St. like in previous years.
Chuck Owens, with the Sallisaw Police Department, said the streets will be blocked off as in years prior, making this a safe and fun atmosphere for all to enjoy. Agencies and organizations may begin setting up tables between 4 and 4:30 p.m.
"Unlike past years, we will not be serving hot dogs or having bounce arounds. This year will be a trick-or-treat event only," stated Owens.
Any organization that wishes to participate in this event may do so by contacting Chuck Owens at (918) 775-4177. Owen’s stated, “Each organization will be responsible for bringing their own tables and candy.”
The Mix 105.1 will be there providing music and handing out candy, so make sure you stop by to see us!
City-wide trick-or-treating in Sallisaw will be on Halloween, Oct. 31.
