Tuesday, May 10, 2022 - Several local churches are coming together to bring back the Moffett Community Block Party for Christ on May 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The block party is jam packed with activities going on throughout the day and is free to everyone that attends.
This annual event started in 2018 and once the block party ended in 2019, the town had to pack up due to incoming flood waters. One organizer of the event, Melissa Jones, said, "We are extremely fortunate and excited to be able to host this event once again this year. It is a great way of bringing the community together to congregate, celebrate, and enjoy the simple things in life, such as our faith, family, and friends."
There will be bounce arounds, several musical performances, an antique car show, as well as an antique tractor show. Games will be on site for the children and a dunk tank will be set up so students can take their turn at trying to soak their favorite or not-so-favorite teacher.
Food will be offered at no charge, which will consist of drinks, hot dogs, chips, sno-cones, popcorn, and cotton candy.
Jones said, "We will also be hosting a food and hygiene drive during the event to help replenish the town's blessing box. If anyone has any non-perishable food items or toiletries, they will be accepted and greatly appreciated."
So, grab your lawn chair, sunscreen, family and friends and make sure to attend this year's Moffett Community Block Party for Christ.
If you or your organization would like to set up a game or booth at this year’s event, you can contact Melissa Jones Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 918-875-3668.
