Thursday, July 15, 2021 - Local women are teaming up to make sure area students start the new school year off in style with Cuts 4 Kids, a free event scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8.
Natasha Vowell, one of the event organizers, said Thursday that hair stylists and nail technicians will be on hand from 1-5 p.m. that day giving free haircuts and manicures to children at The Shed, 100 E. Cherokee Ave. in Sallisaw.
“We're going to help these kids start the school year off right,” Vowell said, “and we're going to have a blast.”
The event will feature bounce-arounds, face-painting and free cotton candy, hot dogs and Frito chili pie. There will also be tables with gently used clothes and shoes for those in need.
