Next month, Muskogee will be hosting a 3 day music festival which they are calling G-Fest and one of my favorite bands will be performing. That band is The Old Crow Medicine Show! You may or may not have heard of them, but they are a great group of performers! They wrote a song that Darius Rucker made a hit of called Wagon Wheel. Check out their version of the song below!
I've always been a fan of the NBA, but since Oklahoma City gained a team I have almost been too much of a fan! I love the Thunder and have probably watched 99 percent of their games since the move. Last year was a disaster with injuries galore, but a new coach and a healthy roster should make for a better season! So everyone get ready to THUNDER UP and enjoy the ride!
Even if you don't like either OU or Texas, you have to appreciate this video. It gives you the experience of running out onto the Cotton Bowl Field..... Enjoy!
So there was the lady, and she was a huge fan of the Rolling Stones and for whatever reason had never seen the band live. So she takes her granddaughter to a Taylor Swift concert and wouldn't you know it, Mick Jagger comes out on stage and sings a song with Taylor Swift. Check out her reaction in the video below!
Today is National Coffee Day and as a coffee drinker I am very excited! I'm not much on lattes and mochas, but I have a nice cup of regular ol' Breakfast blend every morning. I don't drink as much coffee as I once did, but I still love it and I'm glad it has its own day to celebrate how wonderful it is!
Fall is just around the corner and it will be time to put those lawnmowers up until next spring. Here's a quick video that shows you just how to prepare your mower for storage.
I like most people around here am dealing with allergies! It's all new to me as I have never had a problem with them before. It wouldn't be so bad but I kind of have to hear myself in my headphones when I talk on the air. Not being able to do so stinks, but what can you do? The bottom line is, allergies stink and I am ready for the first good freeze to take care of this nonsense. So Here's to you my fellow allergy sufferer, may we make it out without too many sore noses!
No words needed, just watch and get ready for some football!
Recently I took a little trip to New York City and while there I was able to make my way up into the brand new One World Trade Center. It was originally called "Freedom Tower" but upon completion it was renamed after the Original North Tower that was destroyed during the September 11th terrorist attacks. The new building is amazing! You get from the ground floor all the way to the 102nd floor in just about 60 seconds. Once up top you get amazing 360 degree views of all of New York City/New Jersey. If you're ever in Manhattan it's a must see! The video below will give you a great idea of what goes on. Enjoy!
My name is Justin Pettit and I was born and raised in Sequoyah County. I moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2000 and lived there until 2014. While in Northwest Arkansas I started working in Real Estate and was very successful earning multiple awards, but I got burned out and wanted to do what I always wanted and that was RADIO! So I went to broadcasting school and after graduating I began working in Sports radio. While in that market I covered all of the University of Arkansas football, basketball and baseball teams as well as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals minor league baseball team. But I am glad to be back home and working for The Mix! My wife Jennifer and I have 3 Kids, 2 dogs and make our home in the Central area.
